Join us on Saturday, September 25th for a virtual visit to discover one of the greatest painters of Latin America: Oswaldo Guayasamín.
Considered by many critics as El Picasso de America, Oswaldo Guayasamín was an acclaimed Ecuadorian painter and sculptor. He used his art to make the viewer aware of all the pain, illness, suffering, and famine he encountered in the time he had to live. Nevertheless, he also explored other themes such as love, compassion, solidarity, tenderness and body expression. He was most recognized as the hand’s painter.
We’ll have a special virtual tour of Guayasamín’s most remarkable paintings. We’ll discuss some of his most astonishing paintings, his influences and the controversy about his work . The tour will be conducted mainly in Spanish and English will be used just for clarification.
