Online Art & History Talk: Haciendas Mexicanas

Haciendas have been an important part of Mexico’s history since colonial times. Many of these haciendas were exclusive places with their own rules where their inhabitants lived and worked for landowners. Mexican haciendas contain many stories and legends and are an example of a time and a culture. Today, many of them have been transformed into museums, hotels, and farms.

During our visit, the art historian Luz Elena Mainero, Mexican and with great knowledge of the importance of haciendas in the history of Mexico, will explain the tradition of Mexican haciendas since their foundation and their importance in the culture and economy of Mexico and the Mexican society of its time.

The talk will be conducted mainly in Spanish and English will be used just for clarification.
