The Spanish saying “Sarna con gusto no pica” reminds us that when we enjoy something, we don’t care about any inconveniences to get them.

Tener sarna (mange, scabies) es un situación muy desagrasable porque da una gran picazón (itchiness). En el caso de esta frase, la sarna representa cualquier cosa molesta que debemos soportar para disfrutar de algo.

Por ejemplo, si una persona odia volar, pero decide tomar unas vacaciones a un lugar remoto, las molestias sufridas (es decir, la “sarna”) serán mínimas comparadas con los beneficios (y por lo tanto no “picará”).

Es por ello que decimos que si hacemos algo con gusto y de forma voluntaria, no nos importarán los inconvenientes.
