Saying of the day: En el país de los ciegos, el tuerto es rey

The Spanish saying “En el país de los ciegos, el tuerto es rey” teaches us that even someone mediodre can stand out if they surround themselves with those who are less capable than them.

En un grupo de personas ciegas (es decir, que no pueden ver), una persona tuerta (es decir, alguien que sólo puede ver con un ojo) va a tener una ventaja por la simple razón de tener visión parcial.

De la misma manera, en un grupo de cosas o personas de características deficientes, alguien que tenga un mínimo de aptitudes destacará.

En inglés existe un equivalente exacto: “In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king”.
