La neta is very commonly used among Mexicans, especially among young people. It has a connection with truth. You can say things like: ¡La neta te amo! The truth is, I love you. You could also say things like Eres un poco difícil de tratar. And the other person would reply ¡Si! ¡Es la neta! You are a little difficult to deal with. Yep! That’s the truth! When neta is used for a person it means the person rocks: Eres la neta. You rock! or Pedro es la neta. Pedro rocks!
