Join us on March 4th for an exclusive trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to explore, appreciate and analyze paintings of the great Spanish masters. The group will enjoy exceptional portraits by Velázquez, including The Met’s iconic Juan de Pareja (1650), now on view at the special exhibition Velázquez Portraits: Truth in Painting.
Diego Velázquez was a 17th century Spanish painter who produced “Las Meninas” and many renowned portraits as a member of King Philip IV’s royal court. The group will also appreciate paintings by Goya, El Greco and Murillo. The tour and workshop will be conducted mainly in Spanish by Jorge Gallegos.
This is a unique opportunity to practice Spanish, learn about Spanish painting, mingle with like minded amigos and have fun.
